JOB SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Head Barista (Full Time)

Salary: Competitive salary + plus other benefits

Tenure: Permanent

Hours: The successful candidate will be employed on full-time basis and needs to be available on either Saturday and Sunday, or willing to work every second weekend.

Location: Successful applicants will be based out of a Three Sisters Coffee Roasters Preston location. Exact store options and preferences will be discussed as part of the recruitment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of baristas, fostering a positive and professional working environment
  • Conduct regular staff reviews and appraisals, supporting team members to reach their potential
  • Train new and existing team members to ensure consistently high standards of coffee preparation and customer service

Operations & Standards

  • Take ownership of day-to-day coffee shop operations, ensuring smooth running across all shifts
  • Maintain exceptional coffee quality and presentation standards at all times
  • Uphold food safety and hygiene standards, including temperature monitoring, daily checklists and cash handling procedures

Commercial Performance

  • Drive revenue growth and contribute to the commercial success of the store
  • Manage staffing schedules and rotas to keep labour costs efficient and within budget
  • Monitor and control stock levels, manage supplier deliveries and minimise wastage

Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required store paperwork and records
  • Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate wastage records
  • Uphold company procedures and champion a culture of accountability across the team

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential

  • Proven experience as a barista, with strong technical coffee skills
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a small team
  • A natural leader who takes pride in bringing out the best in others
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail
  • Comfortable with basic financial awareness - understanding costs, sales and margins
  • Reliable, punctual and leads by example

Desirable

  • Experience in a coffee shop, café or hospitality management role
  • Familiarity with stock management, ordering and wastage control
  • Experience carrying out staff reviews or performance conversations
